Elf Makeup Mist & Set

Hey everyone!

I have been super neglected my blog that if I were a parent, I will be in the prison already. But I have been super lazy and busy with my life that made me didn’t want to write for my blog at all. I feel that if I didn’t feel to write then I will not write because I feel that it will affect on what I write.

Anyway, today I’m back at reviewing product and I want to review a setting spray from Elf. Actually, this is pretty old product and I have owned this for about a year or so. Spoiler alert, I LOVE this product! Let’s jump to the review, shall we?

Packaging
Let’s judge it from the very first thing that people judge from other people. The packaging. The bottle is plastic with a spray on the top. Let’s go to the thing that people hate the most. The spray. Let’s be honest, this product is known for having the worst spray ever. It squirts very hard in your face that will make your face wet rather than luminous. It does not have a fine spray like other spray have. People say that you need to put it far away to get a good amount of spray. Well, it does work but still sucks tho. Just saying. Or other option, you need to change the bottle. So, you buy another empty bottle and put Elf Makeup Mist in there. Problem solved.

Review
I love this product tho even though I hate the spray. I think that this mist sets and locks my makeup. It does make my makeup becomes long-lasting. I don’t feel oily whenever I use this and I feel that my makeup is still good in the end of the day.
Does it worth the difficulties of the bottle?
It does worth. Even though their spray is sucks and you have troublesome yourself by changing the bottle, it does worth for you. With a super affordable price, I think this is the best setting spray I have ever tried for drugstore.

Pros
It sets my makeup
It makes me matte all day
It makes my makeup becomes even better
It’s affordable

Cons
The spray sucks. Just it.

Details
Name   : Elf Makeup Mist & Set
Type    : Setting Spray
Size     : 2.02 floz / 60ml
Rate     : 9/10
Price    : IDR 90.000 / $3

Conclusion
Overall, I love the product. Aside from all the trouble, I still love this product and probably will repurchase. Why probably? Because I still want to try another setting spray. Nowadays, all makeup products release setting spray which means a lot more affordable setting spray!

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid

Hey everyone!

I can’t ever get enough of lipstick – especially liquid lipstick. There’s no limitation on it, there’s nothing such as ‘I have enough makeup’ because enough is never enough #swag #nope. I have tons of lipstick because I’m such a fool and I have no self-control…and I hate myself. Just kidding, I love makeup.

Recently (or recently in Indonesia), Maybelline came out with a new liquid lipstick called Vivid Matte Liquid. Actually I wasn’t planning in buying it, but because it was a free (which was buy 2 get 1), I purchased it. I have such a mixed feeling about this – let’s check it out.

Packaging
The packaging is beautiful. The black cap complements well with the rest of the packaging. In the bottom of the packaging, the shape is like the shape of a lipstick which is kind of cute. The applicator is as always – doe foot applicator. I don’t find any problem with the applicator which is good too. After I did some research, I just knew that this is the same product as velvet matte lipstick like the one in the US. Asian version has a different packaging as the US but they are the same product! Here are the differences.

US Version

Asian Version

Shades
I’m on the shade Mat 12. I guess they only have numbers and not name on it. The color is kind of nude-brown color which is totally my kind of color. It’s wearable for everyday and natural makeup. I think it’s also perfect on every skin tone because the color is just a basic color.

Review
I have kind of mixed feelings with this product. I know they said it’s vivid which is the kind of velvet, but they claimed it to be matte liquid which I don’t find it true. When I purchased it, I knew that it will be kind of satin liquid lipstick which is creamy, transfer, and not really long-lasting. But surprisingly, it’s not satin yet it’s also not matte. Do you know what I mean? It’s in the middle of satin and matte. Because when you applied it, it does not set as satin (creamy) yet it doesn’t set as matte (dry). It’s just in the between creamy and matte which is kind of confusing, huh? Lol. It felt as if it’s trying to be matte but it doesn’t reach in the matte ‘category’. It does transfer but it’s not too satin as I expected.

Okay, let’s just narrow it down, shall we?

Pros:
I love the finish which is not too satin.
It does not crack or drying your lips
Color is really pretty. They have quite big range of colors.

Cons:
It transfers, which is annoying to me. But it does not say it will not transfer, so…
You feel like you’re wearing lipstick

Details
Name   : Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid
Type    : Matte Lip Cream
Size     : 5.0 ml
Rate     : 6/10
Price    : IDR 89.000 or 99.000 – sorry I forgot, but in the web it’s $7.99

Conclusion
Overall, I don’t feel anything special with this product. I mean it’s not bad, but it’s not special either. I feel that there are tons of liquid lipsticks that just the same as this one and I feel that Maybelline lipsticks are all the same texture as this one. But it’s cheap, it does not hurt at all if you want to have this. It’s also travel-friendly because it’s small which makes you easier to re-touch.

Thank you for reading!

Until next time,

Jess.

Kathleen Lights X Ofra - Miami Fever

Hey everyone!

Because of the popularity of liquid lipstick, brands on the market are in competition to create lots of beautiful liquid lipsticks for people to try. Many of them are trying to do collaboration with makeup youtubers because makeup/beauty gurus on the internet are really happening right now. One of the most influential beauty guru, Kathleen Lights, did collaboration with Ofra. She created a beautiful – most stunning liquid lipstick that I have ever seen. And I’m not being too much you guys – I tell you. Let’s read more to find out! :p

Packaging
The packaging is gorgeous – yes indeed, but colourpop packaging stills a winner in my heart lol. I love colourpop packaging so much even though lots of liquid lipsticks are using that kind of packaging right now. The applicator is a doe foot applicator – like any other liquid lipstick, and I don’t find any problem or weirdness on it – so it’s cool!

Shades
Miami Fever is the first shade that Kathleen created with Ofra and it is stunning! To be honest, I have never liked or interested in the “cool” tone or bright-colored lipstick. But in my opinion, this shade is so unique! It is red but has kind of orange tone on it. The first time I saw it, I was like omg omg omg I need to buy that! But I was hesitating because A). No one sell it in Indonesia and I have to ship it to get it here which is a big no for me because the shipping will be sooo pricey. B). I don’t really like bright colors. C). I have never tried or heard Ofra before, and many other considerations that probably you won’t care about lol.

But when it’s finally came in Indonesia which a.k.a an online shop sells it, I purchased it and I’m not regretting it at all. I should’ve purchased it earlier because it’s so gooood you guys. The color suits me well and it’s just really pretty! I died <3

Review:
Pros:
Long-lasting – like super
Color is stunning!! Beautiful. I love you Kath & Ofra, for creating such an awesome color.
Not cracking. Really comfortable
Pigmented <3

Cons:
It’s quite hard to apply because it’s kind of thick. You have to be really precise.
It’s difficult to remove. Actually a good news because it’s long-lasting. But if you make a mistake, it will be a hell difficult to remove / if you want to change color, it will be a bit harder.

Details:
Name   : Ofra X Kathleen Lights [Shades: Miami Fever]
Type    : Liquid Lipstick
Size     : 6g
Rate     : 9/10
Price    : $19.90

Conclusion
For me, I really like it! It has a unique color in my opinion and I never had before. The texture is nice and comfortable. It’s not cracking even though it’s a liquid lipstick. The only difficulty is that it’s hard to remove which means you can’t make mistake. Other than that, I really love this product and will try to check out other shades. It’s really beautiful!

Until next time,
xoxo,
Jess.

Pixy Pure Finish Compact Powder

Hey lovelies!

To be honest, I haven’t found a super super good powder that makes my skin super flawless. But, there are some products that I like because it keeps my face matte without making it dry. I am also beyond happy because that product is from my own country, Indonesia. Not because the sense of nationalism or anything, but if it came from my country, it must be cheaper than brands outside Indonesia. HAHAHA. #EvilLaugh

Today I want to talk about Pixy. Not Pixi. It’s Pixy. The product is made in Indonesia but licensed by Mandom Corporation Japan. To be honest (for the thousand times), I purchased this because the packaging is super cute! The packaging is pink with white lace. I did not expect much because it is an Indonesian brand. Again, I’m not being shit or anything to my own country but products that came from my country always look bad on me. Sometimes it can be unblended, make me dry, make me oily, and many more.

That is why I’m super excited that this powder works for me! :)

This product claims:
-  SPF 25 & PA +++, optimal protection towards UVB and UVA rays
- Matte lucent powder
 Non comedogenic – clinically tested
Natural Whitening Extract & Derivat Vitamin C, as whitening agent

In my opinion, this powder is great for daily use. It does not give me any coverage or make my skin whiter but it makes my skin smoother. The most important thing, it gives me a matte finish look without making it dry.

To sum up, my opinions

Pros:
-  Great everyday powder
- Matte finish look without making it cakey
- Super pretty and princess like packaging
- Super cheap and affordable

Cons:
It does not smell really good at first but it will disappear
- Light coverage, you have to apply more :)

Details:
Name   : Pixy Pure Finish Compact Powder [Shade: Pink Beige]
Type    : Compact powder
Size     : 11g
Rate     : 8/10
Price    : IDR 35.000

Overall, I’m happy because I can find a good powder for me! It’s also available everywhere which makes me happier. It is also last super long. I have been using this almost 1 year but I still haven’t hit the pan at all! :D

Until next time!

Maybelline Color Tattoo

Hello lovelies!

Even though I am not really a fan of eye shadow, I really want to try so many beautiful eye shadows on the market. Looking at the beauty guru on the YouTube really made me craving for eye shadow because they are just too wonderful!

There are many types of eye shadow on the market. We have glitter eye shadow which is mostly they are put in the little jar. We also have eye shadow palette like usual. Also, we have cream eye shadow which is put in the little pot. Today, we are gonna talk about Maybelline Color Tattoo!

Many people are talking about this product because of their quality. They came in many colors and mine is in the shade Bad to the Bronze. It is a glittery dark brown which looks really good on the eyelid. Some people said that this eye shadows are dupe for the Mac Paint Pot.

This product claims:
“Our ink technology creates super-saturated color. Cream gel smoothes on for vibrant color that does not fade. Ophthalmologist tested. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearer.”

Ingredients:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Polypropylsilsesquioxane, Ceresin, Cyclohexasiloxane, Caprylyl Methicone, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Alumina, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Cyclomethicone, Propylene Carbonate, Candelilla Cera / Candelilla Wax / Cire De Candelilla, Caprylyl Glycol, C30-45 Alkyldimethylsilyl Polypropylsilsesquioxane, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Tin Oxide, Acrylates Copolymer, Paraffin. May Contain: Mica, CI 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / Iron Oxides, CI 77007 / Ultramarines, CI 19140 / Yellow 5 Lake, CI 16035 / Red 40 Lake, CI 77000 / Aluminum Powder, CI 77510 / Ferric Ferrocyanide, CI 75470 / Carmine, CI 42090 / Blue 1 Lake, CI 77400 / Bronze Powder, CI 77288 / Chromium Oxide Greens, CI 77289 / Chromium Hydroxide Green, CI 77742 / Manganese Violet, CI 77400 / Copper Powder, CI 77163 / Bismuth Oxychloride, CI 77510 / Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide

For me, this cream eye shadow is really good. The color is really pigmented and strong. It is also creamy so the application is really smooth. I think it will be best for oily eyelid people because cream eye shadow tend to stick more on it. The best application for this cream eye shadow is using your fingers. I have tried others method to apply this eye shadow but nothing beats your own fingers. If you use your fingers, the color will really shows and pigmented. This eye shadow is also long lasting and does not crease on you.

To sum up, my opinions on Maybelline Color Tattoo

Pros:
- Really pigmented
- The color is super pretty
- Long lasting
- Creamy and smooth

Maybe exaggerating but I have not find any negative thing or opinion for this cream eye shadow. You definitely should try it yourself!

LA Girl Pro Conceal

 Hi, lovelies!

Do you hate dark circles? Do you have a really annoying dark circles? Me too! I have ugly dark circles that really annoy me. There was no right concealer for me to hide my dark circles! If I use it too much, it will get cakey under my eyes and it’s not cute, guys. I tried to search the best concealer, so I watch YouTube for a recommendation. There are some good concealers of course…but the price… it’s ironic. A lot of beauty gurus recommend either Urban Decay Naked Concealer, Nars Creamy concealer, or the newest hype concealer in the market is Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. I really want to try it! I mean, I am already in the stage of depression for my dark circles because there wasn’t any concealer that will do great for me. But I have to face the reality that I could not afford it, so I decided to search the drugstore version.

I watched a lot of beauty guru recommend La Girls Pro Conceal. Then, I checked for the price and I was happy because it is really affordable. I watched more review about it and there was no one talks bad about this product. Then, without thinking more about it, I purchased it! There are so many color selections for this concealer and even there is some shades that you can use for contour. Beside contour, they also have color correcting shades like Green, Yellow, and Orange.

I purchased two shades for this product. For the concealer, I choose classic ivory and it matches really well with my skin tone. Then, the other shade is for color correcting, I bought Orange Corrector. For some of you who does not know it, basically Orange corrector is for dark circles (to hide), Green is for blemish like redness on your face, and Yellow is for bruises, hide veins, or brighten under eye. It is also great to evening out an uneven skin tone.

This product claims:
Crease-resistant, opaque coverage in a creamy yet lightweight texture. The long-wearing formula camouflages darkness under the eyes, redness and skin imperfections. Provides complete, natural-looking coverage, evens skin tone, covers dark circles and minimizes fine lines around the eyes.

This blendable and buildable formula provides the ultimate, customizable coverage. This must-have concealer includes a soft brush-tip for easy application.
·         Camouflages the appearance of skin imperfections
·         Evens out skin tone
·         Covers dark circles
·         Minimizes fine lines
·         Provides customizable coverage

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Cyclopentasiloxane, Beeswax (Cera Alba) Stearyl Dimethicone, Isododecane, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Glyceryl Laurate, Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate, Mica, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Propylene Glycol, Chamomilla Recutita Extract, Propylene Carbonate, Sodium Hyaluronate, MAY CONTAIN: Iron Oxides, (CT 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).

In my opinion, the concealer is really great. It helps so much to cover my dark circles even though it cannot completely cover it up. The formula is also lightweight so it does not make me look cakey. The staying power is quite long too.

For the orange corrector, I love this corrector! It is great to help camouflage my dark circle. For you who does not understand how to use it, basically, you apply this orange corrector in your under eye then blend it. At first, it will look red and orange under your eyes then you cover it up with the concealer until the red color does not show up anymore. It will help so much to cover your dark circles. At first, this technique was booming because someone (I don’t know who) tried to use red lipstick under her eyes to cover her dark circles and it works. But, using red lipstick might look really red and it couldn’t blend well. So, a lot of products come up with orange corrector which has the same purpose.

I recommend using them both. Apply this orange corrector first, and then you can cover it with the concealer. It will help you to hide the dark circles better than just using the concealer. But note that you don’t want to use it too much because it will look cakey in your face.

Details:
Name   : LA Girl Pro Conceal [Concealer: Classic Ivory; Corrector: Orange Corrector]
Type    : Concealer. Corrector
Size     : 0.28 oz (8gr)
Rate     : 9/10
Price    : IDR 60.000 / $5.00

Overall, I am really impressed with these products! I already expect that this product will be good because people are talking about this and it has been their all time favorite. It is also really affordable but not with cheap quality. You need to try this!

Until next time,

Xoxo,

Jess.

Wardah Eyeshadow N Series

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to review an Indonesian makeup product. Right, I am Indonesian! I rarely buy and review about Indonesian makeup product because most of the time I do not like them. It’s not that I think that brand outside Indonesia or maybe famous brand are better, it’s just I haven’t found a makeup brand from Indonesia that is good enough in my opinion.

But nowadays makeup game is going strong in the market. A lot of products are trying to give their best to satisfy the customer. I think those Indonesian brands nowadays are already better and good quality! Today, I would like to review one of the Indonesian’s makeup brands, Wardah.

This product claims:
This 3 in 1 eye shadow is ready to beautify your eyelids with particle microcoated formula for long-lasting results.

Giving the color to the eyes to give accent to your makeup. Available in 14 variant which is a blend of attractive colors for everyday look or party.

The texture is very smooth and easy to blend. For best results use a base eye shadow before the application.

Ingredients:
Mica, Triethylhexanoin, Talc, Zinc Myristate, Diisostearyl Malate, Dimetichone, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Zinc Stearate, Hydrogen Dimeticone, Squalane, Dimethiconol Stearate, Nylon – 12, PTFE, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Quaternium – 15, Isopropyl Myristate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Palmitic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Methicone, Aluminium Hydroxide, Tin Oxide, Silica.

On one fine evening, I was just sitting and watching makeup videos on YouTube then one of Indonesian youtuber reviewed this product. At first, the only reason I buy this is because I was really interested in the highlighting color of this eye shadow. I wanted to buy highlighter at that time but I don’t have enough money to buy a “real” highlighter or Highlighter like Mary Lou, or Becca, or Anastasia Beverly Hills, or Colourpop, etc. So, I was really interested when she showed me that one of the colors in the Wardah’s eye shadow can be used as Highlighter.

Also, it was not this eye shadow that she showed in the video. I have no idea where to buy that eye shadow and I have no idea the name of the eye shadow. I just remembered that the color was light brown, brown, and white shimmery shadow that she used as Highlighter.

When I came to the store, the seller told me that there was no eye shadow like what I described. So, I was disappointed because I wanted Highlighter so much! Then, I looked around to the other eye shadow in the display and this eye shadow caught my attention because of the white shimmer shadow.

Then I thought that this could be used as Highlighter so I bought this eye shadow. Then, I was really impressed because it works! When you first applied it, it might look white a bit like glitter but when you blend it, it will give you glow as a Highlight. I mostly use this as the highlighter on my nose. I tried to use it in my cheeks but it does not look so good. So, I decided to use this on nose instead.

To be honest, I never wear other color from this palette and I never use this palette for my eye shadow. But when I swatches it on my hand, I can say that this eye shadow is pretty pigmented. The blue color may not look as intense as on the palette but the color still showing strongly.

Details:
Name   : Wardah Eye Shadow N Series
Type    : Eye Shadow
Size     : 4,2 g
Rate     : 8/10
Price    : IDR 46.000 / I don’t think they can ship to outside Indonesia. Sorry!

In my opinion, this eye shadow might great for beginners or students who do not have much money to buy makeup; this can be a good starter. Also, because highlighter as so demynn expensive, you can use the shimmer one as your highlighter!

What is your favorite Eye Shadow from Indonesian’s Makeup brand? Please let me know!

Until next time!

Xoxo,

Jess.
